About Bayer Color Technologies

One-Stop Shop for Special Effect Needs
There are three Bayer technologies for adding color and special effects to Bayer's plastics. With three separate technologies, Bayer offers the plastics industry's most complete, one-stop source for adding color and special effects to plastic parts. The Bayer color and special effects technologies are used with Bayer's plastics, such as Makrolon® polycarbonate (PC) resin and Bayblend® PC/ABS blend resin.

Choices to Meet Your Product Design, Processing and Cost Parameters
In today's highly competitive business environment, production time and costs are critical. That's why Bayer offers three separate technologies to meet specific product design and processing requirements. Some technologies are geared to small production volumes and the ability to change colors frequently. Others are more suited to economical coloring in large volumes. You decide which color and special effect technology is best suited for your product and manufacturing requirements.

Thousands of Colors and Special Effects
The three Bayer color and special effect technologies can allow your customers to see your products in a new way. A broad array of visual effects are possible with Bayer Color Technologies. Choose colors out of our broad selection of currently shown rich colors and trendy special effects, or create your own.

Colors and Special Effects Are Displayed in a Spoon or Chair Shape to Illustrate Design Features
The chair and spoon forms contain several complex curves and other design features, which can better represent an actual end product. This is critical, since most of the Bayer colors and special effects are uniquely impacted by changes in light source and viewing angle. These changes are what help give each of the colors and special effects their unique identity. In addition, the chair forms contain a cutout, which will give rise to weld lines and flow lines in certain special effects. This allows you to rapidly visualize the aesthetics and identify which colors might be sensitive to flow lines and weld lines.
