Together with Bayer MaterialScience, PPG Industries has essentially eliminated the uncertaintly typically associated with coating and resin compatibility by selecting a coatings system optimized for parts made from Bayer MaterialScience's line of engineered plastics, such as Makrolon® PC, Bayblend® PC+ABS and Texin® TPU. This compatible plastic-plus-coatings system offers you a cost-efficient method for achieving a wide range of special effects in your thermoplastic parts.

PPG Industries' liquid coatings are spray-applied to parts made with Bayer MaterialScience's thermoplastic resins using a two-step process, and sometimes a three-step process for some special effects. The painting process includes the application of a pigmented base coat (in some cases, more than one base coat) and a clear coat finish. This can yield a wide range of finishes, from high-gloss to matte and even soft-touch.

IMAGIO coatings technology is available in a broad range of metallic colors and finishes. Select surfaces that appear smooth or textured, high-gloos, semi-gloss, matter, or soft-touch. Quiet colors such as Turquoise and Sparkling Champagne create a calm, sophisticated design, while Twilight Purple and Candy Apple Red scream for attention.
