There is a very broad range of visual effects you can create with LEDA® compounded color technology. Add colors. Add sparkle. Add shimmer. Add shine. Add glow-in-the-dark capability. Makrolon® PC and Bayblend® PC+ABS blends are compounded with color and special effect additives that can be used separately or combined to create spectacular effects for your plastic parts.

Eight families of of special effect are available in a wide range of colors:

Some LEDA® Compounded Color Special Effects are FDA-Compliant

Special grades of Makrolon polycarbonate resins are available for food-contact and medical applications. Only certain approved colorants and additives can be added to these special grades. This will reduce the number and types of colors and special effects available for such applications. Please consult with your Sales representative to determine whether the LEDA compounded color technology example you are interested in is available in an FDA-compliant grade.

Special Effects for Specific Materials

LEDA compounded color technology special effects are available for specific types of Makrolon polycarbonate (general-purpose, flame-retardant transparent, flame-retardant opaque, impact-modified) and Bayblend polycarbonate/ABS blend (general-purpose and flame-retardant).
