Color Challenges Meet Their Match
at the Design Center

Color can make or break a design. But getting that "just-right" shade for your product is now easier, and more cost-effective, than ever. The Design Center--part of the Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) Color Competence Center in Newark, Ohio--opened in June 2007 to help customers create custom colors in a whole new way. Using LEDA® compounded color technology, this hands-on facility draws BMS customers deep into the design process, personalizing and streamlining projects, and creating products with unique vision and pinpoint-perfect color in hours, instead of days.

How does it happen? Customers work directly with expert Design Center personnel to discuss needs and match color with precision. Customers can also access the BMS color archives and select from thousands of previously matched colors and effects.

Need a sample bearing your brand new color? Not a problem. Our state-of-the-art Design Center gives you the option to generate a pellet sample in your color, and even mold it in our new 3-D chair form tool. LEDA compounded color technology incorporates the colorants and special effect additives right into the pellet-- so bringing your color to life is fast and effective. In fact, most customers leave the facility with molded samples in hand. This helps reduce development time, while offering a competitive advantage.
