Bayer MaterialScience LLC Design Center Tour Offers Colorful New Insights for IDSA
Take over 80 members from the Industrial Designers Society of America ... Immerse them in the Bayer MaterialScience LLC (BMS) Design Center ... Now add a mix of the latest color and special effects technologies, the know-how of Bayer materials experts, and dynamic hands-on demonstrations ... And what do you have?
One informative and exciting event!
That was the day ahead for IDSA members on April 11, 2008. In conjunction with the IDSA Mideast Conference 2008 in Columbus, Ohio, the BMS Design Center tour gave designers new insights into the world of high-tech thermoplastics formed through LEDA® compounded color technology.
Participants perused the design gallery, filled with the many innovative applications that have been developed using Bayer's engineered plastics. They witnessed parts being custom colored through AURA infusion technology, and then watched as plastic chair forms were injection molded in made-to-order shades before their very eyes. The tour offered the industrial designers and design students a unique opportunity to see not only the elements that go into good design, but how that design moves toward a tangible, colorful product ... And the conference's theme of "Art & Science"? It came to life.
