Sustainability without Sacrifice

In Bayer MaterialScience's new brochure highlighting its Sustainability Program and how its materials contribute to eco-friendly products, color is far from forgotten.

Designers know how important sustainability is today, but they shouldn't have to give up their cool products to make them more environmentally friendly. With Bayer MaterialScience, that all-important cool factor does not have to be sacrificed to be green.

The brochure features two of Bayer MaterialScience's Fantasia® color and special effect technologies, LEDA® Compounded Color Technology and AURA® Infusion Technology. These two technologies are more environmentally friendly than other coloring options, such as paint, while offering a vast array of color choices and custom coloring.

With LEDA Compounded Color Technology, not only is color present throughout a part, making it look better longer, but the technology produces tight color tolerances and eliminates plastic waste. AURA Infusion Technology allows designers to color, re-color and reuse plastic parts on demand, while the technology reuses the liquid medium so it doesn't enter the waste stream, minimizing the impact on the environment.

The Sustainability brochure features vibrant photographs of products that are already using Bayer MaterialScience's polycarbonate resins, which offer endless possibilities for design and are more eco-friendly than alternative materials. The reader learns about Bayer MaterialScience's role in LED lighting, automotive applications, resins containing post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content and even a SNAP FIT TV prototype that is made up of only five polycarbonate parts.

Sure, sustainability means business, but it also means cool.
